A few months ago, Children Now, the leading nonpartisan children's health and education research, policy development, and advocacy organization in California launched The Children's Movement of California. The movement's intent is to initiate a state-wide, grassroots effort to connect those individuals and organizations who care about improving children's well-being. Members of our email list are informed about pending policy decisions that affect California's children and then given tools to communicate with policy makers around those policy decisions.

Why is The Children's Movement of California so important? Until now, the broad support for children across our society has been too diffuse to have significant impact on California's legislative priorities. The Children's Movement is changing that by organizing the goodwill that exists for kids in a timely manner to have an impact on policy decisions as they are crafted and finalized. Members receive approximately two email updates a month on a pressing children's policy issue and they have the option to take action, by emailing their legislator on the issue with one-click, for example.

By connecting the many diverse organizations and individuals that are pro-kid and providing them with the information and tools to have a voice, The Children's Movement is increasing the power and impact of children's advocacy with policymakers exponentially. It's a simple, yet incredibly powerful concept.

Join us in supporting kids. Add your name alongside Temple Emanu-El's and the 300 organizations and the 3,500 individuals across California that are asking policymakers to prioritize children. Note that member's names will never be used in support of any policy, unless they specifically opt in to support it.
